Josh Spurlock, MA, LPC specializes in marriages in crisis from affairs and pornography / sexual addiction. He's also 1 of the 2 Christian sex therapists in southwest Missouri accredited with the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists (ABCST). This specialization in sex therapy means Josh is trained to help couples who struggle with low-sexual desire, pain during sex, or sexual function difficulties.

Shaun Lotter, MA, LPC doesn't do marriage counseling. What he does specialize in is helping men who are struggling with pornography or sexual addiction be faithful to their wives and regain their sense of personal integrity, and he's very good at it.

Rebecca Barratt, MA, LPC specializes in helping women who are struggling with pornography or sexual addiction and the wives of men who are. She also works with your run-of-the-mill marital difficulties and women struggling with anxiety or depression.

September Trent, MS, PLPC is the newest member of our marriage Intensive Care Unit at The Relationship Center. September applies her experience and training as counselor to help couples with run-of-the-mill marital struggles figure out how to have the kind of relationship they've always wanted. When working with more complex cases she draws on the experience and training of the rest of the team to help her clients get results.

Josh Spurlock, MA, LPC

Practice Specialty: Marriage Counseling, Sex Therapy, Eating Disorder Treatment

Office Location: Springfield, Missouri


Josh Spurlock is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with The Relationship Center and a licensed minister. Dually trained in theology and professional counseling, Josh's education includes an undergraduate degree in Biblical Languages with three years of Greek study and two years of Hebrew, a Masters degree in professional counseling, and advanced training in sex therapy from the Institute for Sexual Wholeness.

Josh has also served the students of Central Bible College, Springfield, MO as an Adjunct Professor in Church Ministries. He is a fervent lover of the Lord Jesus Christ and views the counseling ministry as a work of healing and discipleship empowered by the Holy Spirit. He enjoys a variety of business and ministry pursuits.

Rebecca Barratt, MA, LPC

Practice Specialty: Marriage, Women's Issues, and Family

Office Location: Springfield, Missouri

Rebecca Barratt ministers to individuals, couples, and families as a therapist at The Relationship Center in Springfield, MO. She enjoys "Seeing in people what they do not see in themselves and helping them reach their potential" Rebecca is dually trained in theology and professional counseling. She obtained an undergraduate ministry degree with a focus on adolescents and a Master's degree in professional counseling. In addition to her clinical practice she is an ordained minister and serves on the Ministerial Education and Guidance Board (MEG) for the Midwest District of the Free Methodist denomination. Teaching within the church since 1999, Rebecca has been in a Pastoral role since 2004. She integrates her love and knowledge of God and His Word with experience interacting with various age groups. She currently serves as Associate Pastor at Highland Chapel in Miller, MO.

Rebecca and her husband Robert make their home in Springfield with two daughters and a son.

September Trent, MS, PLPC

Practice Specialty: Pre-Marital Counseling; Relationship Issues

Office Location: Springfield, Missouri

September Trent (MS, PLPC) is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor with The Relationship Center. She has a heart for “showing God’s love through serving others.” September obtained her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Evangel University. She specializes in marital therapy and working with individuals struggling with a variety of issues including eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. September’s experience includes working with children and adolescents residing in inpatient facilities as well as completing an internship working with adults struggling with severe mental illness. She also has experience in gerontology where she has counseled individuals residing in nursing homes, provided in-home mental health services to elderly individuals, and assisted families in coping with mental illness. September and her husband have a daughter and reside in Springfield.
